I wonder how Anakin would have turned out had Plo Koon been his master?

Don’t get me wrong, I love Obi-Wan Kenobi to death, and I believe he did the best he could with what he had… but what he had was crippling grief after the person who’d raised him was killed right in front of him while he could do nothing. What he had was a lukewarm (at best) knighting ceremony, not days after Qui-Gon told him he still had much to learn then discarded him in front of the Council with a “he’s adequate” and no warning before the fact. What he had was a tentativemposition in an Order that had, at best, tolerated him while at its worst deeming him untrustworthy or a puppet of his nearly-rogue master.

Obi-Wan did his best with what he had, but let’s be honest, he didnt have a lot to work with, and the poor man never got time to grieve or develop healthy coping mechanisms or friendships with older members of the Order (because again, I love Qui-Gon, but that man was a hot mess 25/8).

Plo, on the other hand, was a respected master, a deeply caring, compassionate man, and had had the time to grow into himself before trying to teach someone else how to be a person. If I recall correctly from Legends material, he was also someone who could use ‘light-side’ Force lightning, and as such probably someone who knew how to use negative emotions constructively rather that the Yoda/Dooku/Jinn/Kenobi lineage who were, as far as I can tell, extreme practitioners of the “bottle your shit until it explodes and kills you or you’re too old to give a fuck anymore” school of emotional stability.

It would be an interest AU, is all I’m saying.
