how have i never heard of archive.org until today.. it’s an internet library that functions just like a real one, as in you borrow the books for 2 weeks and then they are returned to the archive. you can dl pdfs as well, but you’ll lose access after the 2 week period. it’s all free tho, literally just like a real library. i was searching for a cheap copy of this serial murder book from the 90s for my thesis and i found it for free on here. there’s like.. no gimmick at all? i’m so amazed. i literally just signed up and now i’m reading a super hq scan of this book for free. i love libraries.

As a stylist of 11 years I can honestly say that the idea of specific cuts for specific face shapes is complete gendered bullshit.

The beauty industry, as most of you well know, is really caught up in the idea that men are men and should look like men and women are women and should look like women and a lot of us get brainwashed with all the propaganda of the industry.

The while idea of having a haircut to suit your face shape is literally about either accentuating your best features or trying to mask the features society has deemed ‘unfeminine’.

Thats the whole thing. Plain and simple.

So if you’re stylist isn’t listening to you when you’re asking them for a specific style you should 100% go find a new stylist.

We are in the business of making people feel beautiful/handsome/good about themselves so if you’re leaving the salon/barber shop feeling like you’re not being listened to you need to either speak up(without being rude. Sometimes we’re just on a seperate page then you and we think we know what you’re asking for but you have a completly different idea. Pictures are amazing!) and of this still doesn’t get you the cut and style you want, leave. Go to another stylist or another salon.

Loyalty in clients is what keeps us in business yes, but if we’re not working with you to achieve the end result that means we’re failing to do our jobs.

TLDR: haircuts suited to specific face shapes is a bunch of gender propaganda from the beauty industry.

Here’s some hard to swallow pills that’ll probably make people upset but is 100% the truth and idc.

You do not have to stay in a relationship with a mentally ill person if it becomes too much for you to handle. You are not their saviour, that’s not your responsibility to save them.

Any person who uses their mental instability to control you staying is a shitty person. IE “if you leave me I swear to god I’ll kill myself”, still not your responsibility, LEAVE.
