1 and 3 for the fandom old meme. ;)

  1. How many jobs have you had, and which was your favorite?

oh bugger i don’t think i ever actually counted before? uh…9. i think, i might forgetting something… or 10 depending on if you count working 2 different jobs at the same place as one or not? and at one point i had 3 jobs at once for about 2-3 months in the summer of ‘06 cus that was the summer before i went to college and i really needed the money. and i’ve got 2 jobs right now so… it sounds like i’ve jumped around a lot but mostly i’ve been working at this one restaurant for about 16 yrs now and depending on school/scheduling/whatever i would take on another job for more money. like when i was away at school i had a job at a cafe near campus but still went home on weekends to work at the first restaurant.

My favorite i think was dishwashing (at the same restaurant where i’m currently the sous chef which is why idk if it counts as 2 or not cus VERY different jobs, cooking pays a lot better tho). i got the dishwahsing job when i was like 14 and once i had my system figured out? it was GREAT. cus see, unless it was a busy weekend or holiday i worked alone, and the dishroom was my domain and i owned that motherfucker and felt like i was good at something cus i can still polish a copper pot until it shines and STAYS shiney (that’s the trick cus if you don’t do it right it tarnishes and gets streaky). plus i got fed dinner every night. and if it was slow and the boss didn’t have any chores for me i got to read all night.

3.)Were/are you on AOL? Compuserve? LJ? Dreamwidth? A Listserv? Other?

my family completely missed out on aol entirely, i think i was like 12 when we got dial up internet? and then i got onto fanfiction.net. i didn’t get an LJ until college (’06) because a girl in my dorm introduced me to the wider world of Fandom. before that i was just reading and writing fanfiction.

As someone who’s reported alt-right harassment and rhetoric on various
social media sites and been told “there’s nothing here that violates our
TOS,
” seeing what RPGnet is doing is a welcome breath of fresh air.

Please, more social media sites need to do this.

Freedom of speech refers to the government, and the government only.  You don’t get to tell platforms they also fall under it, especially since you made a big deal about a damned wedding cake.

Ostracize those fuckers.  Marginalize them.  Shame them.

Freedom of speech does not equal freedom from consequences.

I just discovered foodtimeline.org, which is exactly what it sounds like: centuries worth of information about FOOD.  If you are writing something historical and you want a starting point for figuring out what people should be eating, this might be a good place?

CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY
