THANK YOU

Let me make 2 major points:

1) Its not about the words “concentration camps” in specific. It’s the fact the a majority of people who use it are SPECIFICALLY comparing it to the Holocaust because it is the biggest, most well known, worst case scenario there is. Like, I cannot count the amount of times they I see a side by side picture of children crying with children in Auschwitz.

So don’t deny that comparison, because people ARE specifically referring to the Holocaust.

2) Might I offer another point?

Jews are pissed off because their same friends who compare the immigration facilities to the Holocaust are the same people who say sh*t like:

“You weren’t even alive when the Holocaust happened” or “You weren’t the only group killed during the Holocaust so you don’t own it” or “So we only care about genocide when it happens to white people?” or, my personal favorite “Jews are treating Palestinians like Nazis treated them” (that’s a whole ‘nother point so bear with me on this). And if you think people don’t do this, just click on the thread for this post alone.

The real reason people feel comfortable throwing around pictures of the Holocaust and comparisons like it’s nothing is the belief that antisemetism is dead. And that’s the real reason why Jews are perturbed but don’t know how to put it into words.

It scares us. We don’t want to detract from the discussion, but we’re sick of getting shit on by the left for being “white” and “not having experienced any racism” and then being shit on by the right with classic neonazism.

Our history and culture is not a pawn. That’s all we’re trying to say.
