My favourite Irish insult is “Go ndéana an diabhal dréimire de chnámh do dhroma ag piocadh úll i ngairdín Ifrinn!”

Translation?

I hope the devil uses your backbone as a ladder to pick apple’s in the garden of hell

Holy shit Ireland are you ok

There’s also one that directly translates to :

May your friends have a fine day – burying you

That’s metal as fuck

Cursing in Irish is like actually putting a curse on someone

why is this getting notes lmao

because I’m dying of laughter, I need to use these on someone.

it reminds me of yiddish curses. for example

“may your intestines be pulled out of your belly and wound around your neck”

“may i have the privilege of sewing your burial shroud” also “i hope your enemies break their ankles dancing on your grave” (and another, in a similar vein “May you turn into a blintz, and your enemy into a cat, so he should eat you and choke and we should be rid of you both.”)

and of course this one:

(now, in exchange, can i have more irish curses please?

Sounds like Pagan curses, holy shit
